Propecia

Propecia Propecia (finasteride) is a medicine that prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone to the body therefore treating male pattern baldness and benign prostatic hyperplasia. If you are taking Propecia to prevent hair loss and re-grow some of the hair you have lost, you will be most likely required to take this medicine for a long period of time. If for any reason you are unable to carry on with the treatment you will lose all the hair you have re-grown within a one year period. Although Propecia is highly efficient and works for most patients taking it, if you do not notice any changes after three months of the treatment, Propecia will be inefficient in your case. An overdose of Propecia is not expected to cause life-threatening symptoms, but you will need to seek emergency medical help if you think you have taken too much of Propecia. You must not share Propecia with other people or let pregnant women handle your medicine as it can get absorbed through skin and cause birth defects. If a pregnant woman happened to come into contact with this medicine, wash the area affected with some warm soapy water and contact a doctor right away to learn about possible options. Your health care provider will need to know as much as possible about your current health condition. Nay medical issues are supposed to be reported to your doctor before you are prescribed a certain dose of this medicine. The following ones are important to mention as they can cause interference: bladder muscle disorder, inability to urinate, abnormal liver enzyme tests, prostate cancer, stricture of the urethra, and liver disease. You may require a dose adjustment or your health care provider will place you under close observation to monitor you for any side effects you may develop. In general, however, Propecia is tolerated very well and only sometimes mild side effects are possible. The most common ones include decreased sexual desire, headache, pain in the testicles, runny nose, swelling or tenderness in your breasts, impotence, and decreased amount of semen. In some rare cases you may experience breast pain, other breast changes, breast lumps, and nipple discharge. Although Propecia is not expected to interact with any medications, make sure you tell your health care provider about any vitamins, herbal products, nutritional supplements, prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking at the moment.
